Probablemente fue el primer europeo que prob\u00f3 esta hierba.<\/p><p>A pesar del cuidado que pusieron los aztecas en ocultar el secreto de la aromatizaci\u00f3n, los conquistadores lo descubrieron y en 1510 la vainilla ya se importaba a Espa\u00f1a. <a href=\"https:\/\/mondevanille.com\/es\/producto\/vainilla-de-mexico\/\"><strong>vainilla<\/strong> <\/a>A partir de 1604, se import\u00f3 a enviaron plantas a <strong>Java<\/strong> y luego a <strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/mondevanille.com\/es\/producto\/isla-de-la-reunion\/\">Reuni\u00f3n<\/a><\/strong> y <strong>Mauricio<\/strong> para intentar cultivar la preciada vainilla, pero a falta de polinizaci\u00f3n natural por <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Melipona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">un insecto de M\u00e9xico<\/a>\n<\/span>Sin embargo, debido a la falta de polinizaci\u00f3n natural, el cultivo result\u00f3 imposible en estas islas.<\/p><p>La primera polinizaci\u00f3n artificial del \u00e1rbol de la vainilla se llev\u00f3 a cabo en 1836 en el jard\u00edn bot\u00e1nico de Lieja por <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Fran%C3%A7ois_Antoine_Morren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n  <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Charles Morren<\/span>\n<\/a>La primera polinizaci\u00f3n artificial de la Vainilla fue realizada en 1836 en el jard\u00edn bot\u00e1nico de Lieja por Charles Morren, luego en 1837 por el franc\u00e9s Neumann, pero fue en 1841 cuando un joven esclavo <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">,<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edmond_Albius\">Edmond Albius<\/a><\/span>, ide\u00f3 el proceso que se sigue utilizando hoy en d\u00eda. <\/p><p>En 1848 se empez\u00f3 a cultivar en<a href=\"https:\/\/mondevanille.com\/es\/producto\/isla-de-la-reunion\/\">la Isla de la Reuni\u00f3n<\/a> (entonces conocida como <strong>Isla Borb\u00f3n<\/strong> ), en las Seychelles en 1866, en <a href=\"https:\/\/mondevanille.com\/es\/producto\/vainilla-de-madagascar\/\">Madagascar<\/a> en 1871, en las <a href=\"https:\/\/mondevanille.com\/es\/producto\/vainilla-de-las-comoras\/\">Comoras<\/a> en 1891, en <a href=\"https:\/\/mondevanille.com\/es\/producto\/tahiti-vainilla\/\">Tahit\u00ed<\/a> en 1898,
